D Bay Film Factory Sdn. Bhd. was established on 6 January 2020 with the main mission of producing creative, modern, and contemporary artistic works. As one of Malaysia’s emerging film companies, D Bay Film Factory has begun to attract attention from established players in the nation’s film industry. Strategically located in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, the company’s office is easily accessible, facilitating logistics, transportation of filming equipment, and efficient crew coordination.
Under the dynamic leadership of its owner and Managing Director, Safina Marbela binti Yahaya, D Bay Film Factory continues to expand its presence in Malaysia’s growing creative industry. The company is fully Bumiputera-owned and focuses on film production and distribution for both local and international markets — including the creation of high-quality creative content such as feature films, television programs, digital media, and short films. D Bay Film Factory has produced several successful titles, including Sumpahan Syaitan — a supernatural thriller that gained international recognition and is now available on Netflix; Maharaja Bomoh — a captivating horror-drama exploring the mystery and power of traditional rituals; and Batu Syaitan — a suspenseful and visually striking film that reflects the company’s commitment to world-class production values. In addition, the company has also produced notable short films such as Bedilan and Bas Malam, further showcasing its versatility in storytelling across different formats.
Expanding its footprint internationally, D Bay Film Factory has actively collaborated with leading production houses from Indonesia and beyond. These include partnerships with Helroad Studio Jakarta for Malam 3 Yasinan; with the Umbara Brothers Jakarta for several projects such as Ozora, Keluarga Suami Adalah Hama, and Musuh Masyarakat; as well as collaborations with Dapur Film Jakarta (led by renowned filmmaker Hanung Bramantyo) and CJ Korea for Descendants of the Sun. Notably, Ozora is currently streaming on Netflix and has achieved Top 3 ranking, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international success.
